Slowly declining. Service is worse and worse. The last time she forgot half our order and we only ordered 2 things- she didn't even notice.. We told her and she said "oh" then we had to remind her to take it off our bill. Yes she had 2 other tables.... Maybe time to retire. Oh and they heat up the egg drop soup in the microwave now because they don't keep it hot, it in a tub in the refrigerator.... Last visit.

FYI ~ the pic I shared of my dinner was after I was done eating. It was big enough for 2! Or to take home for leftovers. Good stuff! Had the chicken Pad Thai for dinner and egg rolls for an app. App came out fairly quick and was good. If you want the chicken wings, was told they take 20 min to make. Didn't get them but saw them at the table nearby and they looked good. Apparently they were bc the chick eating them cleaned them to the bone. My Pad Thai was Delish! Not spicy but I'm sure you could ask them to make it hot. Definitely worth coming to.

Best Pad Thai I have had in a while...flavorful but not overly sauced. They have 3 levels of spiciness: mild, medium, hot. I got "hot" but it could have been hotter so I added some chili from the shaker they have on the table. If you go at lunch they have about 10 lunch specials (w/ the Pad Thai being one) for about $7 and you get your choice of an egg roll, egg drop soup or, I believe, a salad. Nice friendly service and good food!

There were a surprising number of Thai places on Eglin Pkwy, but this one was close to where we were staying and it was open on a Sunday evening. Their parking lot was a bit small, but is probably adequate for the size of the restaurant. We were the only ones dining there at the time (that probably was not their busiest time of the week). The place definitely has a mom-and-pop feel; the owners may even live on-site. The decor could use an upgrade. Service was prompt and friendly. Menu selection was decent. We got both curry and noodle dishes, and no one was unhappy. This wasn't the best Thai food we've had, but it was fine for what we needed - a decent meal after a long drive down to the beach. If I were in the area again, I'd probably check out some of the other places as well, but you won't go wrong in coming here.

Really amazing green curry and lemon grass soup, good portions, decent price and their delivery speed is lightning fast. Two thumbs up!!

Even though I've only remembered to check in here 1 time, I probably order from here AT LEAST once a week. Some favorites are the wonton soup, fried rice, red curry and pad pak. I have never ordered anything that was not delicious, plus they're one of the only places in the area that actually delivers. Thai Saree is hands down my favorite restaurant in Ft Walton.

Best Thai food! We always go for the lunch specials. I've never had a bad experience here. And it's not ridiculously expensive which is nice.

Late one night, I was sitting in front of the television, imagining some shrimp pad thai in my mouth, lonely and bored, I called Thai Saree to fulfill my desires. The guy on the other end spoke perfect English. I was impressed and when I went to pick up the food, saw that he was an old white dude. I paid. He handed me a combo pad thai, meaning it had chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp in it. WTF, I ordered shrimp pad thai. I ordered ONE THING. And ONE thing they got wrong. Whatever. Not going to argue and I took it home because, as many of you know, I will eat just about anything. The pad thai was seriously atrocious. I could have made a better pad thai and that is something very scary to contemplate indeed. Tasteless, bland, dry noodles. The meat were all dry and hard and had no flavor. Some random cooked pieces of bean sprout. I contemplated just throwing the whole thing away. Last time I had a meal this bad was maybe in China, in 2010, somewhere in the middle of nowhere. I can't imagine a worse meal if I were a fucking POW. Now this makes me want to take all the fuckers who wrote this place a raving review, line them up, and shoot them in the forehead.

I chose to get the red curry with tofu, and I wasn't too excited about it. It seemed to not absorb too much flavor, but my main complaint was that the curry itself seemed kinda bland and lacking any sort of flavor. It was more of a spicy soup. I actually chose to add red curry paste to it myself (I got takeout), just to make it more palatable. Should be called a soup rather than a curry. I have not ever had anything else they serve, but probably won't go back. Giving three stars because I don't think it is fair to give a negative review after only trying one item.

Great cheap place, really enjoyed their service and good eats. The egg drop soup mentioned in a prev post was good. Nothing earth shattering. The thai noodle soup was good too, broth was tasty. It needed more cilantro but i know many dont like that...overall only $11 for dinner for the food.

The food at Thai Saree has greatly improved and up to par like it was 10 yrs ago. Fresh and delicious. Dined here 2 weeks ago and had the best pad thai with shrimp! My husb had the thai hot garlic pork that was five star. Spring rolls and their soups deserve a try. You wont be disapoointed. Not on the menu but they will gladly serve you an excellent cucumber salad. True Thai food and this wonderful Thai family welcomes you. Do not let the exterior of the building prevent you from entering this very very good restaurant. They now deliver and do a brisk take out business .

As I was coming into town from the airport, I passed Thai Saree and thought "What a dump!" I would never expect to be having a delicious, authentic Thai meal in that very building 4 hours later. Thai Saree is not luxurious. There is no china. There are no silk napkins. In fact, there is no separation between restaurant and children's homework/video game area. But that is what makes Thai Saree so REAL. Thai Saree is divided into what I considered four areas. Area 1 is the kitchen, and I really enjoyed the work product. More on that later. Area 2 is a bar, which is not a bar, but where Thai women sat and discussed whatever was going on in their lives. I am not sure if these women were friends of the owner, family or customers, but they constantly talked, laughed and enjoyed themselves (but did not eat and did not speak any English). It was fabulous. Area 3 is the dining area, and there is nothing special about it, some booths, some tables, some chairs, and some bad decor. The inside matches the outside. Area 4 is to the right, and was where children ran around and wrestled, watched TV, played video games, sat at a desk doing homework when mom watched (and then switched to video games when she wasn't). Area 4 also contained the Buddhist altar, with all offerings and accompaniments, just like I remembered in Thailand. There was even a 15x24 photograph of the King of Thailand on the wall. I loved this place. I ordered a LOT of food. I didn't eat all of anything, but I ordered a bunch, because I was so excited to try everything I could after 15 minutes of soaking in the surroundings. Listen, this place is good food. It's not Americanized Thai, it's Thai (although served without the ever-so-present fish sauce that exists everywhere in Thailand). The curry was outstanding, very flavorful but a tad bit too much liquid for my taste and that is the only reason it really missed the coveted Ed W. fifth star, because I love my curries, and this was almost like a soup, not a curry. But, because it was still good, I sorta enjoyed having a "soup-like-curry" (that was made "Thai Hot" for me). DId I mention the Egg Drop Soup? Well, I read another yelp review about it, and agree that it's pretty dynamite. When you can take a dish like Egg Drop Soup and make it taste like a million dollars, then that's the sign of a great restaurants. I could go on and on, but I won't. All in all, the food was prepared hot, fresh, and spicy. I really wished I could eat here again. I doubt I will ever be in Ft. Walton again. I don't vacation there. I already am surprised I had to go there for work. So for now, I will just have to hope that this review convinces someone to eat here. If you are willing to ignore the fact it looks like a dive bar from the outside, and can stomach watching the owner's children run around and act like kids, then you are going to love this Thai spot. I give it four stars and would certainly eat here again.

Thai family owned with actual Thai chefs. I am jealous because in my home town all the Thai restaurant chefs are from neighboring countries to Thailand. As you can expect the food was authentic and very good. Their specialty fried whole fish was exceptional. Pad thai was extremely good. Inside expect a cool Asian shrine and friendly service despite the parking lot being dated. If food matters more than fresh paint, try this place out.

Very tasty. Had chicken pad thai, very good and spicy. The egg rolls are very good and flavorful. Cashew beef flavorful and not too hot. Nice location, easy parking and pleasant inside. Enter from Eglin parkway door.

Dont look at the building from the outside. Instead focus on the great food inside prepared by the all Thai staff. This is the best Thai food in FWB IMHO. We eat here all the time. Great Pad Thai. Cooked anyway you want it. Get the spring rolls as an app. Made fresh every day. Great staff. Good prices. Excellent thai food.

My goto Thai spot in the Emerald coast. Al the Thai housewives congregate to cook at the restaurant so as you can imagine....Traditional Thai cuisine. Done be scared by the outdoor appearance......go inside and try it out.

Nothing special comparing to other thai joints I've been to. Had the red curry and it was meh at best. Little too watery and bland. The curry had lettuce in it...need I say more?

Been eating here for 20 years. Hands down the best red curry in town, in my opinion. It's unique and different from everywhere else I've tried. It's consistency is more of a soup. The flavor is absolutely amazing. I like eating it over lots of rice :) Don't let the building scare you. Don't expect a fancy upscale restaurant with all the glitz, but do expect amazing food. It's authentic homemade Thai food at an affordable price. Family owned and operated.

Dear "snobs" and people who judge the outside of a restaurant for whether or not it is good: You are missing a LOT of fantastic restaurants and I feel really, REALLY bad for you. Honestly, I think I am crying on the inside for you a little. Have eaten here twice since we've been in Ft Walton Beach, and both times the food has been extremely good. It is a bit of a dive and is definitely family owned/operated as there are constantly family members/children running around in there. BUT if you don't mind that, the food is awesome and they are more than happy to give you awesome service. If you do mind it, the food is still awesome and you can just get it to go. As for there "not being any spices"... if you want spices, ask for it "Thai hot". Then when the waitress raises her eyebrow and asks you if you are really, really sure - and she will ask you - say yes if you really want spicy. They will make it hot, but I can understand why they wouldn't make all dishes inherently hot as we born and raised American types tend to be wusses with spicy. If you want it hot though, they will make it hot. Very, very hot. The chicken Pad Thai ("Thai Hot") is my favorite thing on the menu and they have AMAZING egg drop soup. I mean, Amazing. Only negative is that they tend to be a little slow on the drink refills and there is a fee for using a debit card.

My favorite place for Thai! I usually get pork fried rice. It's so good and is made the same as I remember in Thailand except the meat was usually water buffalo in Thailand. Over the years i've eaten most of the items on the menu and have liked most items. The place isn't pretty but I don' t mind.

I have to admit, my first impression of Thai Saree was a bit on the negative side. I'm not one to look to prissy establishments for good food, but Thai Saree puts out a "say the wrong thing and lose your hand" kind of vibe, so immediately I was skeptical. With only 3 reviews over a span of a year averaging 4 stars, I trusted my fellow yelpers and went in after some internal debating whilst at the door. Once I passed the door's threshold, all I could think to myself was, "Oh shit." The internal decor of the place looks like the 70's came in and sneezed all over the walls. On one corner of the main room, you'll find a tribute to a Thai Buddhist deity, and the other, children playing loudly as if they were in their own living room. Soon after being seated, we were greeted by who we assumed to be the matriarch of the house, which immediately quelled the unsettled feelings about the place. With her recommendation, I went with the Pad Bi Ka Prow spiced with medium heat, just to guage the heat. With that, I added an order of eggrolls and the eggdrop soup. The eggrolls were brought out in a small basket, still sizzling from the oil it was fried in, topped with a sweet sauce. There was nothing too special about these except the fact that it was fresh and had enough to feed 4 people. Soon after the rolls were consumed, the soups were presented to us. Most of you would think of eggdrop soup as a thick, heavy oil based soup, yellow in color, with bits of egg floating around, topped with stale fried, rice noodles. This eggdrop soup was far from that. With a healthy serving, this soup comes with plenty of egg, topped with scallions. The last sip was as refreshing as the first, with a harmony of flavors hinting of scallions, ginger and just a touch of salt. By far, the best eggdrop soup I've had. Ever! Halfway through the soup, the main entree makes its way to the table, which immediately fills the air with the smell of coconut, curry and a tinge of heat to tease the senses. As was described previously, the curry was thinner than what I prefer, complemented with green bell peppers, spinach and other greens. Scattered among the chicken and green were bits of the thai peppers that brought out a nice even intensity of heat that lasted throughout the meal. The three course meal made me forget where I was, and any lingering doubts about Thai Saree was washed away with every sip of water to cleanse the pallet, only to subject it to more of the wonderful flavors prepared by the cook. The diety in the corner, kids playing and running about in the room, and the gaggle of Thai women speaking in their native tongues definitely gave the feeling of a home, rather than a restaurant. All in all, Thai Saree's homely feel and authentic food is a must visit in the Fort Walton area!

I have been moving away from Ft. Walton and moving back since 1997. Each time I come back I am scared that Thai Saree won't be here anymore. But they always are because they know what they are doing! The Gai Tom Kha is the BEST I have ever had. It makes me cry tears of joy when I eat it. It is the perfect blend of sweet/sour/salty/spicy. Sooo good. The portion is huge. If you are a snob and judge places by their outside appearance then too bad for you. You will be missing out. If you care more about eating good food than pretending to be fancy then go to Thai Saree.

Its funny that someone can get a recommendation from a person that is of the ethnicity of the said restaurant yet still due to the unamericanized nature of the restaurant they feel the need to give only one star. Thanks Sonja from Niceville. This place has amazing food. It is classic thai family style. Kids running around, and the typical veteran who fell in love overseas and brought his love back with him to start a small business that has been around for years. Some people may not be able to taste the subtle use of spices due to years of working at the Styrofoam farm, or perhaps they have slowly died away from years of eating bland fast food. I give it 4 stars, but have used 5 to counter act the one star review that is surely undeserved. Thank you Thai Saree for being a stable source of great Thai food.

After stopping for gas (and to stretch our legs after a 6 hour drive) my coworker and I looked across the street and saw Thai Saree. I was a little weary about going in because the outside made it look a little more like a strip joint than a Thai place. But I was hungry and we'd already passed several Thai places, and I couldn't pass this one up, so we braved it through the door. Thankfully I was greeted with a diner-esque restaurant (my stomach would not have been happy if it was a strip club). It reminded me of going into someone's house that just happened to have a big kitchen and several tables set up in the living room. I ordered a curry chicken and wonton soup. It turns out the soup probably could have been a meal in, and of, itself. It was just above mediocre (to me), but the curry was very flavorful. This was probably the thinnest Thai curry dish I've ever had, more like soup itself, but it went great mixed in with some rice. The owner served us and she was very friendly. Oh...and their business cards are hilarious, "CHILDREN: Vice President".

If you want the food here to taste authentic, you really do have to tell them you LIKE fish sauce and want it THAI HOT. If you aren't sure you want it that way, at least ask for the "real" Thai sauce on the side. I didn't order it this way at first and was kind of disappointed, but once they gave me the sauce, which was filled with pungent sour hotness, my food was restored to its true Thai glory and I was happy.

Great food. Its kinda hidden on a main street. I read prior reviews before checking this place out. You walk in and a small menu appears in front of you. the waitress takes your order then runs back to the kitchen. not a great first impression but then the older white gentleman comes out to greet you. great conversation and says that if you don't see something on the menu they can make it for you as long as you can explain what is it it. They support military and are very thankful of everyone who comes in. don't be afraid of the cover the food and service is great.

This is by far the best Thai food I've had in the Ft. Walton area. The Gai Tom Kha is one of the best soups I've ever had - just the right combination of lemongrass and coconut milk. I usually opt for the Pad Thai, but the Pad See Eaw and Fried Rice are also great choices. This restaurant is a small hole-in-the-wall type of place, and the decor could use some work, but the food more than makes up for it! (New Comments Added 12/2013) I came back here to give Thai Saree 5 stars. I have moved away and cannot find any Thai restaurant that even comes close to the quality food at Thai Saree. I am always comparing my food to them! I miss Thai Saree so much!
